I Am A: Neutral Good Elf Bard Ranger

Rather pleased by this!

I Am A: Neutral Good Elf Bard Ranger

Alignment:
Neutral Good characters believe in the power of good above all else. They will work to make the world a better place, and will do whatever is necessary to bring that about, whether it goes for or against whatever is considered ‘normal’.

Race:
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.

Primary Class:
Bards are the entertainers. They sing, dance, and play instruments to make other people happy, and, frequently, make money. They also tend to dabble in magic a bit.

Secondary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.

Deity:
Oghma is the Neutral Good god of knowledge and invention. He is also known as the Binder of What is Known, and is the Patron of Bards. His followers believe that knowledge reigns supreme, and is the basis for everything else that is done. They wear white shirts and pants, with a black and gold braided vest, and a small, box-like hat. All priests of Oghma are known as Loremasters. Oghma’s symbol is a scroll.

Whoosh

Relaxing in the ancestral home for the next three weeks. Suddenly beginning to realise just how much pressure I was under at work before the holiday.

And for some bizarre reason I can’t read my work email from here. Oh dear, what a pity, never mind.

It seems my grandmother’s uncle was Attorney-General of the United States and founded the Council on Foreign Relations. I had no idea.

Book shopping

Just managed to fit in a little bookshopping along with work-type meetings in London. Tracked down the Fantasy Centre in Islington – actually a little smaller than I expected, but that’s because they don’t bother stocking the “cheap stuff”. Looked in at New Worlds/Murder One as well. I’m sure things never used to be this expensive. But I picked up Hell’s Cartographers and three of the four James White books on my Irish sf list at the former, and the Ted Chiang collection and latest Dozois Year’s Best SF at the latter.

Must go catch train back to in-laws in Kidderminster now. Going to Ireland for three weeks on Thursday.

What sort of student politician are/were you?

My god, it got me completely right!

Hurrah! Like the author you are a Lib Dem! A
perpetual minority, you will enter elections
with the ethos that it’s the taking part that
counts. Believing student politics to be
corrupt and unaccountable, you will spend
enchanting Saturday nights scribbling away at
constitutional amendments in your room.
