Flann O’Brien is certainly the most notable – probably on the fantasy rather than sf side of the divide but definitely there. Here is a piece about sf in Irish, pointing out the stories of An Captaen Spéirling by the mot prolific Irish-language author ever, Cathal Ó Sándair. In the 1970s of course the likes of Harry Harrison, Frank Herbert and Anne McCaffrey moved to Ireland for tax benefits, and two of them are still there!
