The foreign minister was sacked yesterday, after a blisteringly negative resolution about her performance was passed by the Georgian parliament. Interestingly, she was serving on secondment from the French foreign ministry. But she’s now resigned her French position and has declared her intention to pursue a political career in Georgia. Inevitably, the conspiracy theories are already flying, with one of the opposition party leaders alleging that the sinister hand of the Russians is behind it all.
