  1. I eagerly await your statistical analysis of the ballot! Possible groundbreakers this year:

    * Seanan McGuire appearing on the Hugo ballot four times in one year: First time a woman has done this? First time anyone has?
    * First time a Hugo acceptance speech has been nominated for a Hugo award?
    * First time an April Fool’s joke has been nominated? (In one of the fiction categories, anyway–there may have been a fanzine or two.)
    * Is Ursula Vernon the first woman to get a solo nomination for Best Graphic Story?
    * First time the novella ballot has had five women on it?
    * First time the novella ballot–or any Hugo category finalist slate–has contained no white men?
