The 5 members per constituency, I mean. Any chance d’Hondt (for electing MLAs, not just members of the Executive) will be brought back (in place of STV)? Not really, right? If anything having fewer seats per constituency makes STV less unwieldy and weakens the rationale for a list method, plus a community losing a seat because of vote-splitting (without the availability of cross-party transfers) becomes more significant with fewer seats per constituency (and overall). I could see d’Hondt being floated if the earlier idea to increase the number of MLAs per constituency to 7 to keep the total in the neighborhood of 108 went through. But you would have better insight as to that.
