I know know the Albert Finney version plays up the Armstrong/Lindbergh comparison.
I think it’s Colonel Arbuthnot who voices similar concerns to you at the start of the plotter’s plot (as it were).
I’d also avoid the Suchet version of this because they change the plot and the murderer, and this one, even more so than most Christies, hangs together on a wing and a prayer so it sort of stops working.
