  1. After a little searching online, I’m now of the opinion that this is the old hall at Pembroke, demolished in the 1870s to make way for Alfred Waterhouse’s new architectural vision. There’s an engraving from 1847 with sufficient points of similarity, and I think the differences can be explained by the intervening quarter century:
