My BBC piece about Arthur MacMorrough Kavanagh

For Disability History Month, the BBC asked me to do a short profile of the 19th century Irish adventurer and politician Arthur MacMorrough Kavanagh, who had no arms or legs. Here it is. (Based on my earlier pieces about him, here, here and here.)

  1. Like ‘glass’, I think. Isn’t Kiribati one of those languages, like Maori, that was first transliterated by Scottish missionaries, so it makes more sense if you pronounce it with a Western Isles accent?
