29th August 1964: broadcast of ‘The Tyrant of France’, fourth episode of the story we now call The Reign of Terror. The Doctor, in disguise, confronts Robespierre; Susan and Barbara are recaptured; Ian is trapped by Leon’s co-conspirators.

  1. My favourite of the Malory Towers series is ‘In the Fifth’ which about them putting on the school pantomime. Of St Clare’s it’s ‘Claudine at St Clare’s’ which is all about mothers and daughters.
