Sit down for breakfast. Notice a badly bruised mango under a nearby chair. Wonder where it came from. Look up at nearby tree. Notice clumps of large fruit dangling from it. Stop wondering.

  1. Rankin seems to write consistently well. I’m happy to read his less-than-brilliant stuff, because it’s still better than so many other books. (I’m not sure that that’s what you meant by weaker stories, but still.)
