April Books 3) After Dinner Speaking

3) After Dinner Speaking, by Fawcett Boom

I do quite a lot of public speaking, but there is always room to improve one’s technique. Unfortunately I found almost nothing of use in this jumble of tips, snippets and quotations. I only bought it because it was cheap, but it was a waste of £2 and of the 35 minutes it took me to read it.

  1. Is the number surprising? Or is it surprising in the same way as “The Bible Code” is surprising, i.e. as surprising as a not-very-surprising-at-all thing actually, given that with 218 stories that gives something in excess of 40,000 possible matches. That cuts down a little if you insist the story lengths match, not just the episode 1 air dates, but not by so very much.
