The Moomin comic strips are highly recommended – they’re available in some volumes from Drawn & Quarterly. It’s interesting how they sometimes match and sometimes vary the characterisation in the novels – the general tone is just as lighthearted but a bit more adult in the form of occasional sexual humour. (Moomin and Snork Maiden are heavily implied a few times to be having a fully sexual relationship, and there are even a couple of affectionate jokes about her having bodice-ripping rape fantasies.)
