- Review: Trillion Year Spree
Perhaps the most important place for the history of a genre to begin is with defining its topic.
- Under the Influence: Doctor Who
Ryk E. Spoor explains it all.
- The Straight Dope: Did Renaldus Columbus discover the clitoris in 1559?
In brief: no.
- Harry Weathersby Stamps
A great obituary.
- It’s Still A Bad Idea To Sell Arms To Somalia
Yes.
I remember praising one of Sandifer’s posts on Facebook, only for other posts of his to be taken apart in the comments, by people who were right. Generally I find his analysis flawed by misunderstanding or misinterpretation of the context; for example, I think it was Verity Lambert rather than John Wiles (as Sandifer supposes) who signed off on the Drahvin gender-change; likewise, the ‘being uppity’ isn’t how I’d interpret Wiles’s perception of Maureen O’Brien’s mood. I haven’t followed the blog regularly, but might get round to the books at some stage.
