  1. (Please excuse this random butting in, I came across your post on lj’s main page.)

    I’ve found Ann Cleeves‘ Shetland Island Series of books good (now also a TV series); they’re set on the Shetland islands, natch, and I found the readers of the audiobooks did a great job with the local accents. (Not that I can tell one brogue from another, mind, I only compare them to other audiobooks.)
