  1. Cossacks were deported from Ukrainian lands in XVIII century by Catherine II. The most of them – to banks of river Kuban (I live here now), it is former Cirkassian lands about 300 km to the south of river Don, where lived Don Cossacks. The land around Don was never Ukranian. Now (and 100 and 200 years ago too) Ukraine-Russia border separate Donetsk, Lugansk and Kharkov regions on Ukraininan side and Rostov, Voronezh and Belgorod regions on Russian.
