1. Indeed, a favourite composer of mine, too. My own favourites are probably En Saga and the second and fifth symphonies. Thanks for the link to possible fragments from the eighth too: interesting. The opening chord makes me think of Tapiola, but as you say, it’s quite different, yet still characteristic.
