i enjoyed a large number of the discworld novels equally. small gods, feat of clay, the wee free men, thud, going postal… the novels in that era are sheer brilliance, if you ask me. if only i could write so well. as for gaiman, i didn’t care for american gods because it read too much like stephen king. mind you, i like stephen king very much, but i wanted gaiman to be gaiman. i believe he went back to being gaiman with subsequent works. i enjoyed the heck out of the graveyard book for one.
