Our diving club has a very high % of native German speakers. I assume it is a mishearing on their part, but in the frequently heated committee discussions we have the oft-used phrase “XXXX just can’t be asked to do [insert random thing here] because he is so lazy”. So far none of the native English speakers have corrected their usage, it’s rather sweet.
