Please tell me what you think are the funniest moments in the history of cinema. This one is one of my favourites:

  1. I would add that he is much too harsh on the Moldovans, who are actually making rather good progress considering. (On Transnistria, my perception is that Kremlin policy turned 180 degrees in the later Medvedev presidency, and has now turned 180 degrees back again now that Putin is back and Smirnov safely out.)

    But I agree with his overall point – if there were any serious analysis in the Kremlin, they would be asking themselves “Who lost Moldova?” Why were the Russians unable to offer a vision of future cooperation to the Moldovans which was competitive with the vaguely and imperfectly expressed EU perspective? Why did the Moldovans not stay bought, or intimidated? The important thing is to ask the questions.
