3) David Boring, by Daniel Clowes
Again, part of my effort to read the Time magazine list of 25 great graphic novels; and again, a really good one. David Boring has a fascination with women’s bottoms. He has a fantasy about the perfect woman. He finds her, but with (inevitbly) unsatisfactory results. He gets shot. His best friend keeps him together while simultaneously agonising about her own girlfriends. His mother is driving him mad. His father wrote comics and has disappeared. There’s an island in the middle of nowhere. At the end we come back to the beginning, but everything has changed. There is sex and violence but it’s all in good taste. I really enjoyed this but I am not entirely sure why.
PS: See the great trailer.

I didn’t think Somalia had a PM* – but indeed. How are things going for the northern country – I took the time after seeing you to look it up on a map.
