Remember the NATO job that I heard about, pondered, and eventually applied for? My friend who was also applying for it just called to tell me that he’d made the shortlist (unlike me) but crashed and burned at the interview stage, and someone else has been appointed. Since I’d gone off the idea anyway I’m not too devastated. In the meantime something else has come up. And in any case I still have Plan A.
