I’ve now had 80 entries for the competition to predict the results of the European election in Northern Ireland. (See prediction form and entries so far.) This is a lot more than I remember from this stage in the 2003 Assembly elections, itself the biggest such competition I have run so far. Well, it’ll keep me busy; as if I didn’t have enough to do!

Uniquely, nobody seems to have written anything about what happened to Steven on the planet of the Elders and the Savages,
One of the stories originally pitched for my Short Trips anthology The Quality of Leadership was, in fact, about what happened to Steven on the planet of the Elders and the Savages, and I was informed that the license didn’t allow use of the latter (though we could use Steven). I’m guessing it’s an issue with the writer of the episode. (We also had to get permission from Ben Aaronovitch for Peter David to do a sequel to “Battlefield,” which Ben graciously provided.)
