I was a bit surprised when my morning meditation announced to me that today is the feast day of St Bridget. Back in Ireland, the euhemerised deity is commemorated on 1 February.

The Swedish version seems to me not a bad role model to have: true to her own (admittedly somewhat peculiar) visions, moved to Rome in order to put more effective pressure on the Pope to raise the moral tone of the age; something of an activist who would not take no for an answer. I once ended up staying near the church she founded in Rome, though apparently she herself now rests back home in Sweden.
Nicholas,
I’m planning a submission tot he boundary commission and am writing it at the moment. It contains a number of references to both you and the other submissions. At first I disagreed with your interpretation of the Glenshane constituency, but in the end I found no other alternative for what I was trying to do (maintain as many townlands as possible). However my proposal involved quite a different setup for Belfast. Seeing as lots of the fringes of sets were somewhat randomly added alst time to boost the Belfast seats numbers, I see no reason for respecting them this time out. Therefore my proposal for Belfast agreed with the relocation of Shaftesbury to SE Belfsat, but my boundary sheds the Lisburn wards of Derryaghy North (which I argue should never have been split as it opens an obvious can of worms that we ignore wards and draw boundaries as we see fit)and Dunmurry, and instead move the entire Court DEA into SW Belfast. It involves a lot of jiggery pokery with the Antrim seats (especially to meet a few valid concerns regarding Carnlough, Portglenone and Cullybackey. To make it all work however I needed to shift a few wards from Glenshane into it and within a ward or two came up with your demarcation. However I arrived at this via a very different path and wondered if you considered at any point. Specifically as you mentioned in a previous hearing that most Skankill residents regard themselves as living in WB anyway, and a couple of submissions acknowledged that many people from north belfast have moved to Glengormley anyway.
