Third page:

Owl is Fox and Hare’s neighbour.
He lives in a hole in the tree.
‘Hello Fox,’ says Owl.
‘Hell Owl,’ says Fox. ‘Do you have any cake?‘
‘No, I’m sorry,’ says Owl.
‘I do have sugar. Is that any good?’
Fox shakes his head.
He doesn’t want sugar.
He wants cake.
I picked this up in the doctor’s waiting room. It did not take me long to read. The title is “Fox and Hare are looking for cake’, but in fact it is poor Fox alone, ignored by Hare who is reading a book, who is obsessed with cake and goes all around the forest looking for it. (In my limited experience, forests are not the best places to find cake.) But all is well – when Fox returns home dejectedly, it turns out – SPOILER – that Hare’s book was actually a cook-book, and he and Owl have been baking while Fox was out. So there is a happy ending.
